KENYA'S POLITICAL SITUATION SINCE INDEPENDENCE
Moi then declared Kenya a one party state and barred all other political parties. Moi's regine was very unpopular among Kenyans and highly condemned by human rights organizations such as Amnesty international. Moi had promised Kenyans that he would follow Kenyatta's footsteps but ironically he established a dictatorship regime which caused suffering to many Kenyans as a result of limited representation in the government and enormous corruption. This was one of the greatest betrayal by the government to Kenyans.
Kibakis takeover from 2002 brought a breath of fresh air in Kenya due to his numerous development projects in his country. During this time Kenyans were privileged to acquire free education which was one of the main kibakis achievement

In 2022 general elections, William Ruto who was then deputy president took over after winning over Raila Odinga. Raila laid a petition in the supreme court to accusing Ruto of cheating but it upheld his win.With alot of unkept promises which he made during campaigns, Ruto's leadership become unpopular across the country. Due to unfriendly economic policies his leadership has been opposed by the young generation popularly known as( Gen Zs )who held country wide protest to oppose his economic policies mostly over taxation. Kenyans have been suffering due to high cost of living which was brought about by ovartaxation by the government.

Kenya has abundant resources which when well utilized it would improve livelyhood of its citizens. Kenyans should also learn to wisely chose not out promises or wealth but competent eligible leaders who would take the country to next level interms of economic development and promoting democracy.
