KENYA'S POLITICAL SITUATION SINCE INDEPENDENCE

Since independence Kenya has gone through Major political milestones that has transformed the whole country interms of political ideologies and  democracy. Right from formation of African democratic union (KADU) as a rival to Kenyan African Union by Moi. Later on Jomo Kenyatta convinced moi to merge the two parties. This was simply a way of countering opposition of Kenyatta's government by moi. This stabilized country's political situation during Jomo Kenyatta's reigh. Moi succeeded Jomo Kenyatta after his death in 1978. This is where things started going south.  Moi then declared Kenya a one party state and barred all other political parties. Moi's regine was very unpopular among Kenyans and highly condemned by human rights organizations such as Amnesty international. LECTURE'S STRIKE IN KENYA

 In recent weeks, lecturers had decided to suspend their strike after the government promised to fulfill their demands. However, the period of their agreement has now elapsed, and the government has yet to fulfill its promise to pay salaries on time, along with the additional pay increase they had requested. This has led to a halt in academic activities in public universities, leaving students in limbo, with some forced to return home. For instance, at Kibabii University, lecture halls are left with empty seats and no students. Other campus areas that are usually bustling with students are unusually quiet today. Lecturers, who would typically arrive on campus early to teach, have been seen attending to other activities. Despite the agreement with the government, Their needs have not been met, and they remain unfulfilled to this day, which has led lecturers to return to the strike.   Kulingana na kamanda mkuu wa polisi Douglas Kanja kumekuwa na ongozeko kubwa la mauaji ya watu mpaka 339 ikilinganishwa na mwaka uliopita. Kufuatia visa hivi, Kamanda wa polisi pia amehimiza wakenya kuripoti tukio lolote la kutiliwa shaka kwenye vituo za polisi.Aidha, asimilia kubwa ya mauaji haya, yanahusisha wanawake.Vitendo hivi vinatikisa usalama wa mtoto msichana nchini Kenya na kuwaacha wengi na maswali chungunzima. Mnamo Januari tarehe 27 wanawake walitokea mtaani kuhamasisha umma kuhusu mauaji ya kiholela ya wanawake. Haya yalikua maandamano makubwa kuweza kuandaliwa nchini Kenya kutokana na ukatili wa kijinsia. Maandamano yaliandaliwa kufuatia mauaji ya yaliyotingiza vyombo vya habari na kuwashangaza wengi. Angalu wanawake 14 waliangamia mwezi wa Januari peke yake kufuatia mauaji ya kiholela.
