Former president Uhuru Kenyatta encouraging GEN Z to fight for their rights

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s words were an important call for accountability among the youth and leaders. Speaking during the burial of his cousin, Kibathi Muigai, at Nairobi Chapel, Uhuru emphasized that the youth, especially Generation Z, must actively engage in fighting for their rights and addressing societal challenges. This message strengthens democracy and inspires citizens to participate in the nation's development.


It's  i true that all leaders, regardless of political differences, have a responsibility to support social pressure groups like Generation Z movements that advocate for truth and justice. Such collaboration ensures that the government remains accountable to its citizens. This not only promotes social progress but also helps build a transparent and just system for future generations.


Raila Odinga, who has been at the forefront of fighting for democracy, has a critical role in openly addressing the challenges of poor governance that persist. His silence or hesitation to discuss these issues weakens the push for reforms, as his voice is crucial in driving positive change. It is vital for leaders like him to lead the charge in advocating for integrity and accountability in leadership.

 In recent weeks, lecturers had decided to suspend their strike after the government promised to fulfill their demands. However, the period of their agreement has now elapsed, and the government has yet to fulfill its promise to pay salaries on time, along with the additional pay increase they had requested. The strike had begun on October 29,2024disrupting university education across the country. The lectures were demanding that the government implementation of the CBA , which included a salary raise of 7-10% .They also wanted to defend their pensions, receiver fair pay and have some job security.
